  • Damaged Items

    We exercise the highest care in cleaning your garments and use only those processes, which, in our opinion, are best suited to the nature and condition of each individual article. However, we cannot assume responsibility for inherent weakness or defects in materials or workmanship that are not readily apparent prior to processing. Furthermore, we request that customers empty pockets prior to dropping off articles of clothing as Bel Air Dry Cleaners does not take responsibility for damage to your garments from items left in pockets (i.e. pens and lipstick).

    Bel Air Dry Cleaners is a drop-off / pick-up location and no services are rendered on site. All items are sent to a dry cleaning plant off-site. Under California law, a dry cleaner's liability for lost or damaged items is typically governed by the doctrine of "bailment." This means the dry cleaner owes a duty to exercise reasonable care over the items in their possession, however, there will be very rare instances when items may get damaged, misplaced, or lost. Bel Air Dry Cleaners shall be held harmless for such instances, but will provide reimbursement in certain situations. In order to receive reimbursement, any damaged items must be reported in writing to info@belairpostalcenter.com along with original receipts attached within seven (7) days of the completed order. Photos of damaged items must be included in any emailed claim. All claims are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Notwithstanding the foregoing, and to the extent permitted under applicable law: 1. Any reimbursement for a dry cleaning or household laundry item deemed damaged by Bel Air Dry Cleaners shall be limited to and shall not exceed ten (10) times the charge for cleaning the damaged item (not inclusive of tax and other fees) regardless of brand, price or condition of the garment, or $500, whichever is lower.  2. Any reimbursement for a wash and fold item deemed damaged by Bel Air Dry Cleaners shall be limited to and shall not exceed ten (10) times the weight of the item multiplied by the charge per pound of wash and fold (not inclusive of tax and other fees) regardless of brand, price or condition of the garment, or $500, whichever is lower.  In assessing damages for a garment, courts usually consider the garment's current market value, not its original purchase price, taking into account factors like age, condition, and depreciation.

    Lost Items

    In order to receive reimbursement, any missing items must be reported in writing to info@belairpostalcenter.com along with original receipts attached within seven (7) days of the delivery of the completed order. All claims are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Items are considered lost fourteen (14) business days after the initial claim has been made. Notwithstanding the foregoing, and to the extent permitted under applicable law: 1. Any reimbursement for a dry cleaning or household laundry item deemed lost by Bel Air Dry Cleaners shall be limited to and shall not exceed ten (10) times the charge for cleaning the lost item (not inclusive of tax and other fees) regardless of brand, price or condition of the garment, or $500, whichever is lower. 2. Any reimbursement for a wash and fold item deemed lost by Bel Air Dry Cleaners shall be limited to and shall not exceed ten (10) times the weight of the item multiplied by the charge per pound of wash and fold (not inclusive of tax and other fees) regardless of brand, price or condition of the garment, or $500, whichever is lower. Furthermore, we request that customers empty pockets prior to putting laundry out for pickup as Bel Air Dry Cleaners does not take responsibility, as bailee or under any other statutory or common law property principle, for any items left in pockets or left within bundles of garments (i.e. jewelry, watches, cash). In assessing damages for a lost garment, courts usually consider the garment's current market value, not its original purchase price, taking into account factors like age, condition, and depreciation.

  • WE ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ARTICLES LEFT OVER 90 DAYS.

    We always use the utmost care possible in the cleaning of your argments and household goods, but due to variations in materials, fabrics and dyes used to manufacture these products, we require your authorization before we can proceed.

    In addition, we claim no responsibility for trimmings, buckles, beads, buttons, belts, and sequins.

    Any difference in count must be reported, and receipt presented, within 48 hours. Unless a list accompanied the bundle, our count must be accepted. The company’s liability with respect to any lost articles shall not exceed 10 times our charge for processing them.

    I have read the above statement and understand that you will process my arguments with the utmost care. However, I am aware of all hazards and therefore release you from all responsibility.
